Blender Linux and GNU / Linux
When we talk about Linux normally, in fact we are referring to GNU / Linux . I I for one would have (if I heard Richard Stallman ...), in fact many know and do, to abridge or for various reasons it has been widespread talk of Ubuntu as a distribution based Linux, not GNU / Linux.
Linux as such, refers to the core of an operating system based on Unix which was created by Linus Torvalds in 1991. This was an Internet boom, and that initially threw the net and thousands of users and developers decided to adapt it in free software projects. Among them was Richard Stallman, GNU project leading the , a project that was to create a completely free operating system. Subsequently, this complete system, eventually called GNU / Linux was used as a basis for various projects to create their own distributions based on this system. Examples of these projects are Debian, Red Hat , Slackware, or the well-known Ubuntu (itself based on Debian).
